Library Freedom Project: Practicing library ethics through community
Library Freedom Project is a community of practice for library workers who want to live our values of information equity, privacy, and access, while also resisting "vocational awe" by valuing ourselves and our relationships with one another before the work. Alison Macrina will talk about how LFP is building an equitable, power-aware, people-first community, doing meaningful, justice-focused work in our libraries. She'll share some of LFP's current and past work, how we're developing our community culture, highlight members of the LFP community, and talk about our plans for the future.

Alison is a librarian, internet activist, and founder and director of Library Freedom project. Alison is passionate about fighting surveillance and connecting privacy issues to other struggles for justice and an analysis of power.
